I'm really enjoying the ESV Bible on CD narrated by Stephen Johnston. It took me just a few days to get used to his voice just because I've listened to other Bible versions narrated by other people. But after those few days, it's been very easy and very enjoyable to listen to.

The ESV is an accurate but fluid translation, and Mr. Johnston's narration is pleasing to listen to. He has a rich, sonorous voice, articulates very well, and reads with expression that is appropriate to the text but not overdone. I am benefiting greatly from this mode of taking in God's Word.

I purchased an ESV version on CD for my husband for Christmas. I was concerned as to whether or not I had picked one that he would like. He was thrilled! The narrator is marvelous and the absence of music was actually preferable to avoid distraction. He couldnt be more pleased!Great service! Thanks
